Mazzei Electric Ltd. is a family-owned electrical subcontractor founded in 1994 in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

What started as a small commercial service operation has grown into one of BC’s leading electrical contractors, with over 280 staff across four offices: Nanaimo, Victoria, Kelowna, and Fort St. John. In 2022, Mazzei joined Seacliff Group and partnered with Seacliff Electric in Calgary, extending their reach across provinces. They deliver commercial, multi-family residential, and institutional new builds across British Columbia — the kind of projects where 280 electricians are spread across dozens of active sites at any given time.

Operational safety turns field work into usable proof.

The situation

Leadership heard about incidents quarterly

Before SALUS, Mazzei ran safety on paper and SharePoint. SharePoint stores documents — it doesn't drive action. The result was a safety operation that functioned on delay.

01

Executives in the dark

When an incident happened on a job site, leadership found out about it quarterly — if someone remembered to surface it. Zero real-time visibility across four offices and dozens of sites.

02

Print, mail, and hope

Disseminating updated safety bulletins across four offices and dozens of job sites took days. Certifications expired without warning. SharePoint couldn't push notifications or track action.

Why SALUS

Every incident report now hits the executive inbox instantly

01

One platform replaces three systems

SALUS replaced binders, SharePoint, and quarterly summaries with a single platform. Consolidated from 3 company accounts to 1 unified platform.

02

Instant executive incident alerts

The biggest shift was incident reporting — auto-email sends every incident report directly to the executive team the moment it's submitted.

The shift

Before SALUS, executives would hear about safety trends and say, 'Oh, I had no idea.' Now they see the frequency themselves. They're watching the emails come in.

The impact

Real-time leadership visibility, one unified platform

In their words

More from Donnie

Now we can just instantly upload SWPs, SJPs. FLHAs are done right on everyone’s phones, which is great. And this is the central storage area for us that we can go back and whenever we do our COR audits and stuff like that.

All of their onboarding happens on SALUS and we’re able to see it real time when it’s done and push our supervisors on site if it’s not. It really is — not as much gets missed when it’s all online and you have someone dedicated to looking at it. Efficiency goes up for sure.

Full customer perspective

Now it goes to all of them so that we can start an email chain on what’s going on. It goes to our entire director leadership and then it comes to myself and Dan, our safety manager, and then we can start a conversation about what’s happening. Before sometimes it would be like you’d submit it to them going, ‘Hey, this is what’s going on.’ They’d be like, ‘Oh, I had no idea.’ Everything comes from the top down. So to have them more aware of what’s happening has really helped us trickle back down to all levels.
