I manage all things COR. We’re COR certified in BC and the Yukon. So two COR audits a year. The compliance tab, the specific sites to be able to go through and meet those different requirements in each province — from my perspective doing the internal audit has made it a hundred times easier. I can search for documents. Do we meet the 80% FLHA requirement? Are the sites doing toolbox talks on a regular basis? I can go in and search for that very quickly and easily and then even get the numbers. And when we have external auditors come in, they love it. It makes it just as easy for them.
Before SALUS, we did everything on paper. Guys were standing at printers scanning all of these safety documents in and then us trying to get it into the correct folders per COR. It became a full-time administrative job. When I came to Wildstone, one of my first goals was to get rid of that process.
You’re going to get a little bit of pushback from the field. But what I find so funny is those ones that really push back the most are the ones that say to me, ‘Now Leann, why didn’t we do this sooner?’ They were very afraid of it in the beginning and I did get some pushback, but those ones I find now are the biggest champions and are the ones that utilize it to its full power the most.
